Meirion is a very accomplished and well-respected sheepdog handler, judge and event organiser, and has won many trials including the Welsh National Sheepdog Championship. He also captained the Welsh team at the International Sheep Dog Trials.

A farmer born and bred, Meirion has been around border collies all his life. He is the third generation of his family to be involved in the art of training, competing and demonstrating with his border collies all over the country. Meirion appears regularly on TV and has been on three series of the very popular BBC programme ‘One Man and His Dog.’

Meirion’s duck herding demonstrations are designed to showcase the amazing talents of border collies and the communication between handler and dog. His demonstrations are informative, educational and highly entertaining. They are also interactive, allowing hands-on adult and child participation. Meirion provides his own humorous commentary as he uses a combination of commands to guide his dogs and cooperative (and sometimes uncooperative) Indian Runner ducks around a course that includes tunnels, slides and pens.

They have been performing their doggy displays for over 25 years, with a team of over 35 handlers & dogs.

Founders Rob and Carole Hill of Whitchurch take their display to small and large events around Shropshire, Cheshire and surrounding areas and have even made a small TV appearance when they auditioned for the 2008 “Britain’s Got Talent”, alongside Kate & Gin.

They train dog-owners from far and wide and what started as a hobby has now become a big money-spinner for charity.  The money raised from the shows is donated to a chosen charity each year.

Previously the team have supported Whitchurch Cottage Hospital, various Dog Rescue centres, and also Dogs for the Disabled.

All the dogs are family pets and most only do it for the fun, they come in a variety of shapes and sizes from Deerhound to Jack Russell, and from varied backgrounds, from Rescued to Pedigree, and even bionic.

The show is an amazing demonstration of Dog Agility and devotion to their handlers, it includes an obedience display, agility work over  a small course of jumps and tunnels, heelwork to music routines and some fun relays, with a grand finale of the fire run, where the dogs run along the 60ft dog walk through hoops of fire!!!!.

It now also includes some retrieves through the fire and dogs carrying fire!!!!

The display has already been to the following events this year:

• The Shropshire County Show on 14th & 15th May
• Shrewsbury Carnival on 18th June
• Sir John Talbot School, Whitchurch on 25th June
• The Maelor School at Penley on 2nd July
• Market Drayton Carnival on 3rd July
• Newport Show on 9th July

Other shows booked for 2011 are RAF Shawbury Family Day in July, Burwarton Show and Beeston Castle in August and Llanfair Caerinion Show and Calverhall Family Day & Grinshill Animal Rescue Show in September,
